We are the Blood Bloc, a mosquito squad attacking the morbid body of postindustrial societies. Its blood is poison, its blood is nothing but fuel extracted from the Earth to nurture state-sponsored mass murder. We are made to drink this poison since we’re born, so let us drink it all and leave this body bloodless.
Land flooding for dams, tar sands and mineral extraction to feed the North American military industrial complex have decimated northern ecologies and created a modern industrial genocide for many communities. Through war in Afghanistan, Somalia, and Congo to name a few countries, Canada has used military aggression to ensure the flow of capital to its transnational extractive empire. Canada is home to 75% of the worlds mining companies, and the largest industrial project on earth, the tar sands.

The unseen wars Canada wages kill people today and for generations to come. The state tries to wash the blood from its hands by keeping people distracted.
Let every surface speak the truth – blood for oil. People die for oil.

Mosquito Mosh is an ephemeral direct action squad whose goal is to pinpoint the sore body of industrial empires. Conducting sporadic interventions in public space, we use advertising surfaces as one of the mediums to vehicle our message.
But advertisement itself is the fuel that makes machines of hyperproduction run idle, fabricating desire for “ever more”. Our goal is to deconstruct these desiring machines, and inject our message on their surface: remember, whatever they try to sell to you – it’s for oil. And what they really need from you in the end – is your blood and sweat. Sweat of all the hours of hard labor you spend working to fulfill artificial desires that they fabricate, blood of all the lives consumed by the monster of late capitalism.
