We praise deep woods and learn from leaves – to fall, to rot, to regenerate. We use the gift of mimicry, observed in the nature, to move in silence, to dissolve ourselves and disappear. This is when we attack. We come when they do not expect, too busy and narcissistic, obsessed with everything that shines, sounds and smells like oil.
We attack as water – between bricks of their walls, drop by drop. We attack as wind – piles of meaningless documents escape from their desks and fly over hungry cities built on genocide. We attack as fire – turn their barbecue into a Dyonisian mystery. We attack with the Earth, we only help it to defend itself.
Semantic Sabotage is not an organisation. It is a strategy that has been used across the world, over centuries, by those who feel that old paradigms of dominant societies become too harmful for this world. Semantic Sabotage works with symbols, meanings, ontology and imagery – decolonizing imagination from Cartesian nightmares of binary oppositions between subjects and objects, cities and nature, means and ends, masters and slaves, men and women, whites and colorful. Semantic Sabotage praises diversity of tactics – from black magic in the woods, to black bloc interventions in urban temples of privilege and discipline.
Semantic Sabotage works with time – to deconstruct both the myth of the End of History and dominant narratives about “progress”, “future” and “development”, that only mean expansion, extraction, theft and exploitation. Semantic Sabotage is one of the ways to enter the Now.
